Wärdshuset

Wärdshuset

Wärdshuset, the restaurant in the centre of Gothenburgs pride and joy Liseberg, were completely rebuilt in 2009. The assignment was to recreate the exterior of the building that was build 1801 and to create a brand new interior designed for fine dining. It also included designing a new glazed extension towards the fountain Spegeldammen and a large outdoor dining area.

The interior of Wärdshuset were to tell a bit about the story behind the building and the Nonnen sisters that lived there during the  1800 century. The real challenge was to create an environment that appear sophisticated and elegant, but still is durable enough to manage the heavy wear that all interior in Liseberg suffer. Durable materials but sophisticated detailing was in our opinion the way to go.
